Bad dialogue or storytelling (yes on both). Linear levels, online lag, limited modes (yup, yup, and yup). But as I was playing through the game, I found one consistently good feature: It was constantly impressing the hell out of me." Rating: 10/10

Ten days after the US Release is now GoW in Europe available too. In all countries of the European Union without Germany you can buy it.

11/07/2006 - On IGN is a 55,5 MB (Windows Media File) or 72,4 MB (Quicktime File) available. Through the video you get a good impression of Gears of War and this is amazing.

First ratings of Gears of War

Jeff Gerstmann from Gamespot say about GoW: "Gears of War is an outstanding technical achievement, but in addition to looking and sounding amazing, it's a seriously awesome action game." Rating: 9.6

Teamxbox.com say about GoW: "This is by far the best looking video game we've ever seen. Crank up your surround sound, rev your buzz saw, and feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins." Rating: 9.6

Gold-Master-Disc is ready

10/26/2006 - Gamespot report that the development of Gears of War is finished and that the Gold-Master-Disc is on the way to the pressroom. Gears of War will be available in the USA on November 7 and is M (for Mature) rated.

In European the Game is rated 18+ and will be released on 17 November 2006.

Rumors about a PC Version

10/22/2006 - Some websites report that Epic plans a PC Version of Gears of War for the new Microsoft operating system Vista. According to this a release is possible at the end of 2007.

Gears of War not in Germany available

10/18/2006 - As a result of the strict protection of minors the USK (Voluntary Monitoring Organisation of Entertainment Software) which is rating the Software in Germany accord after a press release from Microsoft no passing for Gears of War. And all talks between Microsoft and the USK brought no result because the proposed changes were to deep.

The other lands of the European Union and Switzerland used the PEGI (Pan European Game Information) System for the rating of games. And this organization gives Gears of War a rating 18+.
